HARVESTING THE GARLIC

Just before harvest.

The first stalk

Bounty Crop

A wounded stalk....we will keep it!
Every year Mark plants the Garlic, so simple, pushings cloves in the soil up-right, Autumn is the time.
Each year we pull out something different, because the Garlic takes on the characteristics of the soil, which is ever changing. So each year we get a little something different.

  4. Why have I never grown garlic? You plant it in the fall, Karen?? I'm going to be putting in a raised bed soon and...I'd love garlic..to go w/my basil.

  5. What a great crop. I love my garlic...Put it in everything..well almost everything (not icecream). My mother in law used to complain about the quantities and smell and say the reason I never get colds is because nobody would come near me! I hope that's not true! Enjoy your crop :)
