Purdum's Produce Stand

My calendar is telling me the first day of Autumn has already come and gone. I'm trying to remember if we went here in September. Oh well, no matter. Visiting Purdum's cannot be passed up or not blogged about either. It is a super-treat to visit here. An amazing, happening, frenetically busy Produce stand in Fruitland ID.

We first stumbled upon it when traveling out to Fruitland to buy local honey. The gal running the honey store was telling us about this cool stand but it wasn't open yet because spring and summer came upon us slow this year. But, we persevered and low and behold, eventually, summer did arrive and the bounty right along with it!

I know. It's a lot of pictures. I found the colors and the mounds of veggies and fruit irresistible. No wonder artists are always painting this stuff!

 Here come de corn!

Beets!

Never seen em like this...what would you call it? Their raw state? I think I've only seen them out of the can. I don't eat them much. But they are cool looking here. I had to ask what they were.

Fields of Zinnias. As far as the eye could see. I'm pretty sure they're Zinnias!

I feel very fortunate to live in an area where all this fresh produce and these fields of glory are at our fingertips! It's been a wonderful season of quick road trips to dash to the next harvest of berries, apricots, peaches, flowers...whatever. Farm to table. It's a good thing.
Welcome Fall and bring on the apples!
