Speeding along Route 400, heading east, you could maybe get a glimpse of "what the heck is that ?"

You could slam on your brakes, and back track to look at the phenomenon, or just decide you were hallucinating.

We decided to stop on our way back to Dodge City and check it out.

Mullinville Kansas, known to us as a blip on the road.

NOT SO!

M.T. Liggett, born in the 1930's, retiring from a career in the military. This man is a metal sculptor, who makes one HUGE statement along the highway, and intersecting road passing through Mullinville. Some very disturbing sculpture, and very interesting political statements, as well as local views, and personal opinion.

Hearsay says we could be chased by him with a pitch fork for stopping to look to close.

JUBILATION...

The Cherry kind.

Another fun thing to do in the summer around the Boise area. Run out to Emmett when the cherries are ready. We went to Tyler's Rocky Point Orchard.

Last year we had cute little cherry pickers.

 We bought 'em already picked this year. 

 Good thing we didn't get worn out pickin 'em cuz the husband came home & pitted a whole huge box full. Turns out he's gonna start selling jellies & jams & yummy homemade stuff like that on etsy.

WATERFRONT WALK - WICHITA

Wichita is a beautiful city. We stayed there for 3 days and had a wonderful time, our favorite was walking along the 
Little Arkansa river.

July's off to a good start...

Making a little somethin' somethin'...

Can tell I'm in my fifties.  Started out on the steps, bending to work on the wreath. Whew. That's painful! No worries, I'll sit on the chair and work on it.  No bueno.  Still painful.  Put my clever mind to work and came up with this plan.  No wonder I'm tired at the end of the day. That's a lot a thinkin!

 Couldn't resist all the different shades of green in the yard.

Fruit is so dang pretty!!! and delicious!

Backyard bliss. Sweet friends. Good food. Awesome family. The 4th. Always a good time to take stock and say thank you! (You can't see me, but I'm curtsying.) Thank you Lord!

What fun we had celebrating our friend, Carolyn's, monumental Birthday!

As much as Carolyn insisted on NO recognition, we all enjoyed dropping by WAREHOUSE BEAUTIFUL and surprising her with a Birthday Greeting.We captured some great photos of Carolyn celebrating! How beautiful to have the back drop of WAREHOUSE BEAUTIFUL, but of course the fore front was our most lovely, Carolyn!

A VERY "GREEN" GREENSBURG

This Memorial is a sad reminder of lives lost but also an amazing statement of so many who survived.

Greensburg has always been known for its Big Well. A beautiful building, also very "green", will be housing this Well in a couple of years.

These steps remained standing but the building was flattened.

A new Greensburg water tower was also erected after the original was taken down.

Mary and I left Dodge City on a beautiful Saturday morning.

We were heading to Wichita, but stopped on our road trip in a small town, Greensburg.

What an amazing town, so much to learn from this small town's devastating ordeal.

May 4, 2007, a community of 1,400 people, were hit by a Monster Tornado at 9:50 PM.

This tornado, 1.7 miles in width, came barrelling through the town at 205 m.p.h.

The National Weather Service team were able to give the citizens of Greensburg a 20 minute notice. Eleven people died. The town was demolished, 90% gone.

The towns people who decided to remain, and rebuild, are creating a very "Green" Greensburg.

Totally amazing what they have done with many supporter's.

Their efforts are still being realized. Much more to come!

I reccomend this town to anyone's agenda..so inspiring!
